Hello All,
I live in the North-East in the US. I would like to know the english names of fish that do not smell when cooked.
I tries salmon and cat fish, but they have the fishy smell and break down very easily even on low heat for 10 minutes.
If any one is from Andhra, I am looking for fish names which are equivalent to KorraMenu or Bochha.
Regards,
Venkat

hi venkat
I had the same problem too when i firsta came to the US. Try the fish named Tilapia. You will find it at any grocery store. It dosen't smell as much. It might not be equivalent to korrameenu, but does taste better than other fishes available here.

hi venkat,
tilapia would be fine but you could also look for "patin" or "haruan tasik". There are also some good fishes that would taste good for curries. one of this is " seluang" or better known as "seluar dalam "
