Which are the fishes that are used to make kerala style fish curry. Could you please give me the english and malayalam names. Also, which are the fishes used for fish fry, meen pollichuthu and meen peera, fish mollie etc. Thanks |

King fish ( nanmeen), croaker, thilapia, mackeral ( ayala) and rock fish are very good for curry and fry. Croaker, king fish and rock fish are good for mollie.

Hi Bhavana,Iam not as good as Seema in English fish names.I wil give malayalam names.Try mathi and Kozhuva[also called ozhuka] for peera.For meen pollichathu the best choice is Karimeen.For curry I would suggest Srav[shark],thirandi&choora.
