The raga Chintamani, like many other ragas, has sevaral scales- one each in 7,26,51,52,56 and 59. I think that is where the problem lies. It seems to me that I had posted the scales of Chintamani earlier on some thread. IR might remember where.

I had written : "it was whether to place vasanta under sooryakantam ( as is the practice now, with chatusruti dhaivata ) or under mayamalavagowlam ( with suddha shaivatam )".
It seems this was because some manuscripts in the Dikshitar family had listed both Vasanta and lalita under mela 15. Even the red book of Sundaram Iyer ( towards its end ) classifies both under mela 15.
Lakshman, do u have any other song ( apart from Devibrova ) in Chintamani in ur lists ?

I have heard somebody sing the keerthana "Thumnai Sei" in Chittaranjani ..donno who the composer is.

are some krithis i found in Sunadhavinodhini apart from Devadi deva.

I have heard a kriti Paripoornamayee in the raga Sunadavinodini ( I think it is composed by NS Chidambaram ). I have also heard Dr N Ramani's tillana. I think there would be other contemporary compositions in this raga too.

Rajita Shyama, Sharada sutam. Both by Bangalore S.Mukund in Devamrutavarshani (aka Nadachintamani)
Chintalela, Gatajanma, Ni daya rada, Ni nama sankirtaname and NI pada bhajana, all by Sriramachandramurti Sistla in Nadachintamani.
In Chittaranjani: Tudi Sheiven by Pamavati Ammal, Vaishnavim by Bangalore S.Mukund, Vikhyata mukhyaprana by R.K.Suryanarayana, Smara manasa by Ratnakara Tirtha.
