"The Singapore Dakshina Bharatha Brahmana Sabha" (SDBBS) celebrated its 75th Anniversary last year and in commomeration of the Platinum Jubilee
celebrations of the Sabha and in aid of the Sabha Building Fund, we had organized special events last year viz., Chandi Homam, Sastha Preethi 1999,
Vocal Music Concert by Sri Neyveli Santhana Gopalan, Sports events (Badminton Tournament), Vocal Music Concert by Smt. Nithyasree Mahadevan,
cultural event (Kalai Kadhambam), etc.
If you are an Indian Carnatic Instrumental Music Lover, what could be more melodious than the Violin?. We are organizing a classical Indian Violin Concert on the 28th May 1999 at the SP Auditorium (former PUB Auditorium)@7.30 pm and the main artist will be Lalgudi Sri GJR Krishnan (son of the famous Lalgudi Jayaraman).
Lalgudi Sri GJR Krishnan, the present torchbearer of Lalgudi style of playing Violin, hardly needs any introduction. An accomplished Violin
player, Sri Krishnan has accompanied several leading vocalists and instrumentalists as well as given solo, duet and trio Violin performances
with his father, Lalgudi Sri Jayaraman and sister, Smt. Vijayalakshmi.
Sri Krishnan's music represents the quintessence of the Lalgudi style and is a delight to the finer sense. Sri Krishnan will be accompanied by Prapancham Sri Ravindran on the Mridangam and Sri B. Ravi on the Ghatam.
If you are interested to attend, kindly let me know. The tickets are available from me each @$10/- and $15/-. The response has been very good so far and do let me know in advance and I shall keep the no. of tickets for you.
